1 NFL team may keep tabs on Deion Sanders’ Colorado football tenure in coming years

Deion Sanders has arguably changed the world of college football as a whole. In just two years, Coach Prime took a struggling Colorado Buffaloes franchise to superstardom and their first bowl game since 2017.

This rapid recovery, since Sanders began his coaching tenure, has caught the attention of at least one NFL team, who could find themselves looking to hire Coach Prime.

Sanders, though initially apathetic about coaching in the NFL, recently named a single condition in which he’d coach for a professional team: “You know what?” Sanders said on the show "GMA3: What You Need to Know." "The only way I would consider is to coach my sons.”

Worth noting is the fact that Sanders references his “sons,” not just Shedeur. This could prove complicated for Sanders, as though his son Shedeur is projected as a top-round pick, his safety son Shilo is not, and may not be drafted at all.

CFB analyst Matt Leinart posted Tuesday, asking “Coach Prime to the Raiders…… who says no?”

This insinuates that the Raiders, after recently firing their head coach Antonio Pierce, could potentially be interested in Sanders.

This works for a multitude of reasons, as the Raiders have struggled immensely with QB play this year and would likely benefit from having a player like Shedeur in the saddle.

FanSided’s Mark Powell admits, “(The opportunity to coach Shedeur) may not come this offseason, as the Raiders are currently looking for their next coach. However, if Vegas selects Shedeur Sanders as their quarterback of the future this offseason, then perhaps Coach Prime could be of interest in a few years.”

This news comes in the wake of Sanders’ latest contract offer, which ex-Colorado QB and analyst Joel Klatt stated was “a very, very, very good offer… I don’t know why it hasn’t been signed.”

So, will Coach Prime eventually take an NFL job to coach his sons? Glory Colorado’s Andrew Hughes stated, “Truthfully, [Shedeur’s senior year] probably won't be the last time Deion coaches Shedeur.”

“Where there's a will, there's a way,” Hughes said -- and we know Coach Prime is nothing short of sheer willpower.
