This transfer portal class brings immediate game-changers for Colorado. With countless quality players but only ten spots, selecting the top ten transfers was challenging.

Colorado's Top 10 Transfer Portal additions for 2026

10. Randon Fontenette (Previously: Vanderbilt)

He addresses Colorado's immediate secondary need after losing top performing safety Tawfiq Byard to Texas A&M by way of the portal.

He is listed as a versatile defender excelling at box safety, slot corner, and linebacker. He tallied 52 tackles and 6 pass breakups in 2025, helping Vanderbilt to a 10-3 record.

9. Erza Christensen (Previously: New Mexico State)

After concerns about his 2026 eligibility at Colorado, Christensen received a waiver approval on Jan. 29, securing his spot on the team.

He earned All-Conference and All-American honors this past season, leading NMSU with 6 sacks, 11 TFLs, and 42 tackles in 11 games. Pro Football Focus ranked him third among FBS defensive tackles with an eye-popping 88.9 grade.

8. Justin Eaglin (Previously: James Madison)

Eaglin dominated at James Madison this past season, tying for the Sun Belt lead with 5 INTs and recording 35 tackles en route to All-Sun Belt honors.

He'll play a key role in Colorado's rebuilt cornerback room, which returns only RJ Johnson and Makari Vickers.

7. Gideon Lampron (Previously: Bowling Green)

Lampron is the thumping middle linebacker Colorado has lacked, giving Nate Landman-like vibes.

He tallied 119 tackles, 17.5 for loss, 2.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, and one pass deflection, earning first-team All-Conference honors.

6. Kam Perry (Previously: Miami-Ohio)

Perry proved he's a legitimate playmaker with his dominant 2025 campaign at Miami (OH). He hauled in 43 receptions for 976 yards and 6 touchdowns while averaging an explosive 22.7 yards per catch.

Expected to be featured primarily in the slot, he opened the season with three consecutive 100+ yard games.

5. Santana Hopper (Previously: Tulane)

Landing Hopper from the transfer portal was a massive win. The interior pass-rusher put up impressive numbers with 39 pressures in 2025, establishing himself as one of the elite transfer portal prospects available.

Last season, Hopper was Tulane's best defender with a 79.4 PFF grade. Over his career, he's racked up 71 tackles, 16.0 tackles for loss, 8.5 sacks, and two forced fumbles in 26 games.

4. Danny Scudero (Previously: San Jose State)

Scudero dominated at San Jose State last season, topping the nation with 1,291 receiving yards and 107.6 yards per game.

He was one of just five players with 1,200+ receiving yards in 2025, providing offensive coordinator Brennan Marion a legitimate weapon in his ‘Go-Go’ offense.

3. Boo Carter (Previously: Tennessee)

Carter couldn't replicate his freshman success from 2024. He was dismissed from the team in November and entered the transfer portal after discipline issues and missed workouts.

If Prime and Colorado can refocus Carter to his prior form, he could top this list. He recorded 25 tackles, 4.5 TFL, one sack, and 3 forced fumbles this past season.

2. Liona Lefau (Previously: Texas)

Colorado landed another major addition in Lefau, a Texas defensive starter who posted 68 tackles, a sack, and a defensive TD in 2025 with Texas.

The linebacker started all 12 games and ranked fourth in tackles on the team. Lefau joins Lampron and Martinez in a linebacker room that's significantly improved from last season.

1. DeAndre Moore Jr. (Previously: Texas)

This was likely the Buffs' biggest portal acquisition this cycle, landing an SEC receiver who posted 38 receptions, 532 yards, and four touchdowns for Texas this past season.

He caught three touchdown passes against Arkansas, finishing his Longhorn career with 77 receptions, 988 yards, and 11 touchdowns in 36 games.
