It has been a ten day layoff since the Colorado Women’s Basketball team has stepped out onto the court. That is too long for any team, and the girls may be a bit rusty. However Colorado is coming into tonight against SMU with a stellar season in tote. Carrying a 9-0 record. Tip off is at 8 PM/6 PM MT at the Coors Events Center.

It feels good for any team to be undefeated at this point in the season. What does not feel good is to still be winning and dropped off the top 25 rankings. However, Colorado did gain some points in the AP poll. But if you ask Head Coach JR Payne she does not care about those numbers. She does not pay attention to that process. What is most important is how her players are playing. Improving, and what is most important is how they keep winning.

The month of November could not have been any better for the Buffs. Head Coach Payne knows exactly where they need to get better and improve, and grow. Before long we will see Colorado back on the national polls. The key is always getting your team to the point of staying there. It’s always an honor, but what is even greater than poll appearances is the respect.

Colorado will come into tonight’s contest matching up with a 4-5 Mustangs squad. Leading the way is #21 Mya Hollingshed, averaging 28 minutes and 13 points, adding 6 rebounds at forward. Following just behind her is #11 at center Quay Miller with 10 points on almost 5.5 rebounds and nearly 19 minutes per game. Guard Frida Formann comes in behind with 8 points and 20 minutes. Down the line everybody on this team has been contributing top to bottom. That is a method to success for any team.

The Lady Buffs are coming off an 81-47 point victory against Southern Utah 10 days ago. They look too continue the high octane performance against a struggling SMU team at home.

Tip off starts at 6 PM Mountain/8 PM Eastern time, on the PAC-12 network. The Colorado Buffaloes host the SMU Mustangs at the Coors Events Center, where the Buffs look to light it up at home and give a show in Boulder this Friday evening.
