Things are lighting up in Boulder, in a big way this week. Colorado Basketball has been on fire as of late. It all started with the women on Friday Night. The Buffaloes came into Coors Events Center looking to continue on with their undefeated season. The Buffs beat the Mustangs 78-55.

It was never close, as Quay Miller scored a game high 20 points. Hollingshed added into the fun with 7 rebounds and 19 points herself. Jaylyn Sherrod tacked on a respectable 5 assists to lead Colorado to it’s 10th win of the season.

Still with a great start to the season and it’s 10th win along with a 20

point lead, head coach JR Payne is thirsty for more.

"“I don’t want to seem ungrateful for a 20 point win. I just want more. I know these guys also want that. We’re all excited that we won by 20 but we also are all going to stew about some of the things we didn’t do effectively.I think that’s the sign of a good team.”"

It is coach. Honing in on what makes you great and what can make you better it’s the sign of a great team. This is the third time in JR Payne’s tenure the Buffs have reached 10-0. What’s even more impressive is a coach and team who is striving for more. I do believe the sky is the limit in 2022.

Tomorrow the Buffs are back at it quickly after that 10 day lay off and host a Monday afternoon game against San Francisco. The last non conference game before opening up the PAC-12 schedule, where Colorado will really see what their made of.

On Saturday the mens team took the floor. Despite not having leading scorer Jabari Walker in the second half, but the Buffs held off Cal State Bakersfield. Colorado improved to 9-3 by beating the Roadrunners 60-46.

Keeshawn Barthelemy led the way with 12 points and 6 rebounds. Nique Clifflord muscled out 7 rebounds and 10 points of his own. The men take on No.7 Kansas on Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. We will see if a big win against Kansas can bump the Buffs back into the top 25 with Colorado State. Don’t miss this big matchup on ESPN 2.
