The first quarter was all Colorado at home. And with 7:56 left in the second quarter Mya Hollingshed already racked up 13 points going 3-3, on 3 point shots and adding in 2 rebounds and one assist.
With 5:09 left in the first half San Francisco pulled within 7 points, until a shot by Kindyll Wetta put the Buffaloes back up by 10.
By the half San Francisco got the deficit down to 7 points again, and Colorado led at the half 39-32. Jasmine Gayles at guard led the way for them going 2-4 from the floor with 7 points, one rebound, and one made free throw. A handful of the other players all shared in the success with 5 points.
Quay Miller was the strength, from the start to the finish. She went 5-6 from the field and had 5 rebounds and 11 points at the half. Tacking on one assist and one steal as well. Kindyll Wetta also had a great first half going 4-4 with free throws, 3 assists, and 7 points. Mya Hollingshed finished the half with those 13 points going 5-6 from the field in unison with Miller.
At the start of the 3rd quarter the buffs extended their lead to 12 coming out hot after the break. Getting some buckets by Jayln Sherrod and Lesila Finau.
By the end of the third quarter Mya was 4-5 with three point field goals and 6-9 overall. Already getting 18 points and 5 rebounds. A great Monday at the office for this Houstonian.
Quay Miller nearly matching it in the third, with her own brilliant performance scoring 17 points with 3 steals, two assists, and 6 rebounds. Going 8 for 11 from the field. For San Fran the only one in double digits was Jasmine Gayles with 10 going into the 4th quarter. She finished the contest with 15 points. Claudia Langarita following just behind at forward added 11 points and 4 rebounds.
Mya finished out the game with 23 points and 9 rebounds for the game. A huge reason why this team is now 11-0. Quay miller, the center of it all had a huge performance at home in her own right, with 19 points 3 steals, 3 assists, and 8 rebounds. Lesila Finau was the final player in double digits with 11 points, as the Colorado Buffaloes women’s basketball team continue to roll and make more history going 11-0.
The final in Boulder was 80-56. It was the last non conference game before Colorado opens up the PAC-12 schedule against Oregon State on New Years Eve. The 7-3 Beavers will host the Buffs and make the Boulder Strong prove they can be a force to be reckoned with not only in the PAC-12, but in the Nation.
