CU Buffs: Another day in and another Buff out

Another day closer to next season and down goes another Buff. Just minutes after it seemed Christian Gonzalez announced he would be play at Oregon, Mekhi Blackmon announced he would be entering the transfer portal.

He was one of the best players on defense that Colorado had, and probably the best one left who had not entered the portal. Becoming the 15th scholarship player to enter the portal, and also the 4th starter.

The senior cornerback started 19 games at Colorado. Producing 84 tackles and 13 pass breakups, along with two  interceptions. He had a career high 50 tackles this season even if he was limited to nine games. Blackmon was also on the Jim Thorpe award watch list in 2021. Who also had the honor of being team captain this season. Will he too end up at Oregon with his teammate?

We want to wish Mekhi good luck in all his endeavors in the future, and thank him for all the hard work, time, and effort he gave to the University of Colorado.
