Alone on top and feels so good for the Colorado Buffaloes. The now one and only team who remain undefeated. Arizona succumbed to USC on Sunday losing 67-76, leaving the Buffs to stand alone  and hold the title of the only undefeated team left in women’s college basketball. Their 13-0 start is the best start in almost 30 years for Colorado.

Head Coach JR Payne had some lovely words to say about her ball club after their latest victory:

"“I just told the team I’m really proud of them, you know I mean I think every team has gone through some adversity or another, but we’re no different. And to come out and be able to sweep our opening weekend in Pac-12 play on a short practice window, when our opponent had a lot of time to prepare for us and we had a very short amount of time to prepare for a great team like UCLA, it just shows a lot of resilience, a lot of togetherness, a lot of you know cohesion, I’m super super proud of our ball club.”"

"“There’s a thousand things I could tell you that I love about our team this year, one of them is that we genuinely have depth, you know, and so it is very difficult to win continuously when you only have one or two offensive weapons. And so on top of depth we also have a group that’s very selfless. So nobody cares, one night it is Maya’s night one night it’s Quays night one night it’s her night, nobody cares, and so you can make those types of adjustments, people you know see maybe Frida has the hot hand, or Jaylin has a hot hand they’ll feed her without me having to say feed them. You know, so I love that our team was able to do that sort of organically, and you know Maya didn’t have her best game but she still had 7 rebounds which were absolutely huge, against a team like UCLA. You know Quay hit almost all of her free throws. There was still a lot of you know contribution from people that’s one thing that’s great about our ball club.”“There’s a thousand things I could tell you that I love about our team this year, one of them is that we genuinely have depth, you know, and so it is very difficult to win continuously when you only have one or two offensive weapons. With the victory against USC and UCLA the Buffaloes have finally broke into the national rankings again. Securing the 22nd spot this week. I think we can all agree that it was way past time. With a win against Stanford it should catapult Colorado much higher in the standings.

The first place Colorado Buffaloes now No. 22 in the nation will take on the No. 2 Stanford Cardinals on Friday at home once against in Coors Events Center. We will see if Colorado can continue to make history and break more milestones in a few days.
