CU Buffs have more transfer portal woes this week coming out of Boulder. When it packs on it really packs on. The end of 2021 and the start of 2022 for Colorado have really taken on a whole new meaning to CU Buffs, as player after player truly says “C.U. Buffs.”

As a new wide receivers coach came in another wide receiver came out. Dimitri Stanley, sophomore from Aurora Colorado has announced he too has entered the transfer portal. Stanley was named Freshman All Pac-12 by SB Nation. He was also on the watch list for Freshman All American. This past season he started 9 games for Colorado gaining just 130 yards and 1 touchdown. His breakout season was in 2019 pulling in 312 yards and two touchdowns. Followed by similar performances in 2020. This former 4 start recruit has chosen to take his gifts elsewhere.

Linebacker Chance Lytle has decided to enter the portal and spend his last college season in greener pastures for himself. Lytle played in 30 games for Colorado with four starts. He started the season opener this season but did not have a lot of progress this season. Coming out of Churchill Texas he graysharted and then redshirted in 2017. Mostly playing as a backup until 2020.

Punter Josh Watts has also entered the transfer portal. An Australian punter who ranked third in the Pac-12. A 47.8 yard punt averages this last season. However, the Buffs have punter Ashton Logan who has been waiting in the wings to take over.

Last but not least defensive back Chris Miller will also play for another team in his final year of college football. Miller had 13 total tackles in his 2018 and 2019 season. Since then, he has dropped off, but had a little better of a 2021 season.

This past week former Buffs cornerback Mekhi Blackmon chose to go to USC along with former Colorado wide receiver Brenden Rice. This now marks the 22nd player to enter the transfer portal since September. We will miss all these guys but we hope they find the success and happiness they are looking for. It’s a whole new face and feel to football in 2022, but we are excited to see what the new blood and players of loyalty mixed together will look like. Head Coach Karl Dorrell seems happy and excited and believes it’s all coming together.
