Just when you thought everything was going the Oregon Ducks way, the Colorado Buffaloes mens basketball team showed resilience in Tuesday night’s conference matchup. The Buffs, led by sophomore

Jabari Walker

, stole a game on the road by the final score of 82-78.

78. 515. Final. 82. 514

This was an important one for Tad Boyle and company. The Buffs were losers of three of their last four and needed a conference win in the worst way.

They got it, snapping Oregon’s six-game winning streak.

The Ducks started out hot, going on a 15-2 run to start the ball game and it looked as if it would be one of those laughers about to happen in Eugene. Colorado continued to scratch and claw throughout the first half however, getting a huge three from Walker late as they went into the break just down five.

Colorado took control in the second half, outscoring Oregon 45-36 enroute to capturing an important conference win on the road. The Buffs had three players in double-figures, led by Walker with 24 points, Keeshawn Barthelemy with 19, and Tristan da Silva with 15.

KJ Simpson provided the much needed spark off the bench, scoring 8 points on 3-of-6 shooting, collecting six assists and three rebounds.

Oregon had four starters in double figures led by junior foward Quincy Guerrier. Guerrier had 22 points on 8-of-15 shooting while pulling down six rebounds. Will Richardson had 17 points, Devion Harmon had 14, and Jacob Young tallied 11.

A statement win for Colorado and now they have two games remaining on their road trip. They travel to Washington on Jan. 27 to play the Huskies and finish it off with the Washington St. Cougars on Jan. 30.

Would be nice to sweep the three-game roadie.
