Home court advantage did not help Sunday for Colorado after a 4 game road trip. The women were coming off a thrilling win when they went into Salt Lake City and took down the Utes on their home court, but Utah matched it and stole one back from the Buffs.
Dasia Young hit 5 three pointers to lead the way for Utah, leading all scorers off the bench. Ines Vieira led all starters with 12 points and 8 rebounds.
Mya Hollingshed was the brightest spot for the Buffs but it just wasn’t enough. However, it was enough to get Hollingshed her 1500th point. She had the best game of the season scoring 28 points and 7 rebounds. Now in 12th place in all time scoring for the Buffs. Frida Formann had 12 points as well coming off the bench. The others were having a hard time getting shots to fall for Colorado.
The Buffs now fall to a season low 14-5 after an extremely hot start to the season, they are now becoming ice cold losing 5 of their last 6 games. They now have a bit of a break to regroup, rest, and be ready for the next test. Colorado goes on to play another home game against Washington State on Friday afternoon. The Cougars are coming off 3 wins in a row, Colorado has got to get things in order and find the grit and resiliency they’ve had most of the season.
