Colorado Buffaloes recruiting class doing the Texas Two Step all the way to Boulder

Texas Football has a long and deep history. When you think of Texas a few things come to mind: The Alamo, BBQ, and football. It is a religion in Texas and so it is not secret why the University of Colorado would want to go there to find the best of the best talent in football. Itโ€™s one of the best states you could possibly go to to find the best High School football players in the nation. The Buffs are full of them, and with that is the best recipe for success.

Out of all the 2022 recruiting class for Colorado the great state of Texas has risen again. And here are the players that fill out the roster from the Lone Star state:

Aaron Austin-Forth Worth, Texas

Aaron Austin a fitting name from Texas for the defensive lineman out of out of Forth Worth. This 6โ€™2 250 pounds 3-star defensive lineman who had 20 offers. He signed with Colorado back in December.

Zach Courtney-Post, Texas

Zach Courtney a 6 foot 6 240 pound tight end from Post, Texas. He is a two way player out of the lone star state, playing both tight end and defensive end. Courtney was also a track star in the meter, hurdles, shot put, and discus. He was his districts first team selection as tight end and defensive end. Helping his 2A D-1 to state runner up.

Dylan Dixson-Houston, Texas

Dylan Dixson a 6โ€™2 190 pound safety out of Houston Texas. He was second team all district at safety his junior year and first team selection at outside linebacker his sophomore year of high school.

Keyshon Mills-Little Elm, Texas

Keyshon Mills 6โ€™1 190 pound corner back from Little Elm, Texas. He signed back on December, 15th in early signing day.

Chase Sowell-Humble, Texas

Chase Sowell, wide receiver and a 6โ€™3 185 pound wide out from Humble, Texas. He caught for 1400 yards and added 16 touchdowns in his final season at Atascocita High School.

Jordyn Tyson-Allen, Texas

Jordyn Tyson is a 6โ€™2 180 pound wide out from Allen, Texas. He was a 3-star prospect with several offers. Tyson also competed in Track and Field where he was successful in the long jump.

Van Wells-Houston, Texas

Van Wells, an 6โ€™2 290 pound best of an outside linebacker from Houston, Texas. Set to be a beast in the center. Out of C.E. King High School this 3-star offensive lineman looks to be a force for the Buffs.

Joshua Wiggins-Spring, Texas

Joshua Wiggins, a 6โ€™1 180 pound corner back from Spring, Texas. Wiggins also signed back in early signing day on Dec. 15th. With several offers this cornerback picked Boulder to land.

Alex Harkey-Austin, Texas

Alex Harkey, a sophomore and outside tackle from Austin Texas. A JUCO lineman out of Tyler Community College. One head coach Dorrell is very excited for.

Maddox Kopp-Houston, Texas

Maddox Kopp, a 6โ€™5 250 pound freshman out of Houston Texas. Out of St. Thomas High School. He was a two sport athlete in both football and basketball. In his junior season led his team to the state semiโ€™s.

R.J. Sneed-Cypress, Texas

R.J. Sneed, a 6โ€™1 205 pound graduate out of Crypress, Texas. He was formerly one of Baylor Universityโ€™s premier receivers. In 2021 he had 573 years and 2 touchdowns. Averaging 12.5 yards per carry.

Owen McCown-Rusk, Texas

3-star quarterback standing at 6โ€™2 and 175 pounds from Rusk, Texas. The son of well known NFL quarterback Josh McCown. He was a Texas first team selection as a junior and helped his team to the playoffs.

Having a group of young men who are so deeply rooted from Texas football brings a whole new edge into recruiting from any state. The passion and love for football is imbedded into them. Itโ€™s a passion just as big as the state itself. That love of football is going to spread all around the team and create a winning and successful environment In 2022 and for years to come.
