It was a battle in Boulder. The Washington Huskies came in with an 0-7 Pac-12 record but it was another test for the Buffs. The final at halftime was 23-23. Colorado’s starting lineup continuing to struggle out of the gates again. Kindyll Wetta was a bright spot for the Buffs, only with 2 rebounds in the half but was all over the court in warrior fashion. She seemed to be involved in nearly every turnover for Washington.

Two teams battling for their lives. Colorado was beaten on the boards again and struggled at the free throw line, only making 5 out of 11. They have to start fixing those shots to keep their leads. Washington won the battle on the boards in the first 21-14. Quay Miller led all scorers at the half point mark with 6.

Shots did not seem to be falling much in the first half for Mya Hollingshed, but she has such a strong powerful presence on the court. She got things fired up in the third quarter coming out and making two back to back three pointers. After another three-point shot by Hollingshed and layup by Tameiya Sadler Colorado opened it up to a 10 point lead with 7:45 left to go. Late in the 4th quarter the Buffs went on a tear and went up by 21. In the end the final was 66-43.

Nancy Mulkey was the bright spot for the Washington Huskies with 16 points and 4 rebounds.
She was a powerful performer all game long involved in almost everything on the opposite side of the court.

Hollingshed and Miller were the stars of this contest. Peanut Tuitele had another clutch outing. She made inside shots right when Colorado needed it. Mya had 20 points and 6 rebounds and 4 assists due to her stellar second half. Kindyll Wetta had a masterful day that stats on paper might night show, but she did have 6 points 2 rebounds and 2 assists. Quay Miller came off the bench with 18 points and a couple rebounds and assists. Peanut Tuitele finished with a good game of 8 points and 4 rebounds.

The Buffs go on the road next for a 4 games. They take on  California at Haas Pavilion on Friday at 8:00 p.m. against a 10-5 Golden Bear squad. Hopefully this win has given them the confidence boost to go on a winning run and challenge the rest of the Pac-12 on the road.
