The Colorado Buffaloes have just added more talent to the receiving core today. Edward Schultz committed to Colorado this morning. Wide receivers coach Phil McGeoghan had spoken earlier about how aggressive his recruiting style is going to be, and to go after the best talent in the nation. Already a man of his word the Buffs just added some major speed to the roster.

Out of San Juan Capistrano, California Shultz says his best attribute is his versatility for how big he is. All the recruiters have loved what he can do after the catch. For a team dying for some offensive output this is a perfect fit. As a former quarterback and safety he can also play in many areas of the field, but special teams is truly where he can shine for Colorado.

At 6 foot 1 and 195 pounds 14 schools including Colorado sought after this kid. Schultz claimed Colorado was one of his top 3 choices. In 2021 he broke his school record at J Serra Catholic for touchdown returns in a single season with 4. With 814 yards receiving in his high school career. Shultz was also 1st team All-Trinity League as a wide receiver and kick returner.

This is a player who could help out in so many areas and make a big impact for the Buffs. He ran back a 91-yard kick off return for a touchdown against a big rival in high school. A player who has no fear for any team, and an athlete who can step into Coach McGeoghan’s system truly believing in it.

The former NFL wide receivers turned Colorado Buffaloes coach believes intensively in to not only forming great college athletes who can carry out a successful career, but creating even more success in them as men. Schultz said he really believed in him and McGeoghan really believes in him and what he can do. He’s looking forward to not only developing as a better receiver but also a better human being. Not only did he commit to the school but they committed to each other.
