What can you say about Quay “Clutch” Miller? She has been one of the best sixth players in not just the Pac-12 but all of NCAA women’s basketball this season. Today she was honored with the Pac-12 Sixth Man of the Year. Deservedly so, her production off the bench was better than that of most starters.

Quay Miller is a junior out of Renton, Washington. She attended Kentridge High School as one of the most prolific post players before playing for the Washington Huskies for two seasons. This is her first year with Colorado and she has made her mark for the Buffs.

This season Miller has averaged over 11 points and 5 rebounds a game. Shooting at 51 percent from the field, and a 28 percent three-point shooting percentage. Since coming onto the scene with Washington she has progressed every season averaging higher points and higher shooting percentages.

Her biggest breakout game came early in the season against Air Force when she scored 17 points and 4 steals to edge out the Falcons. Quay’s highest scoring game came against Dixie State where she led the team with 20 points and 6 rebounds off the bench. Then followed that up a game after against Southern Utah with 18. If that wasn’t enough the following week she matched her season high yet again against the SMU Mustangs with 20. She has scored in double figures 15 times this season. So this award should come as no shock to basketball nation.

Against her former team in early February Quay threw down an 18 points performance. Something she has done several times this year but against your former team turned rival it feels extra special. There were very few contest this season she did not score double digits in. You know when she took the floor that something special was about to happen. Many times this year she was the leading scorer of the game, so it comes as no surprise she was honored with this high accolade.

Quay also received All-Pac 12 team honorable mention for her success off the bench. She is the reason why the Buffs won so many games this season and why they will continue to. Colorado takes her former team on again in round one of the Pac-12 Tournament. Tune in to see her shine against them yet again.
