Colorado Basketball head coach Tad Boyle spoke out against the treatment of Pac-12 teams, mainly his team. Saying there is a bias against the East Coast teams. The Buffs have finished out the season going 8-1. One of the hottest teams in basketball right now and took down the No.2 team in the nation, and look to do that again on Friday evening to get to the Pac-12 Tournament Championship.

Although Colorado does now have 21 wins they are left out of the conversation because of a couple poor losses against lesser than teams. This was at a time the Buffs were struggling and they are not the same team now, as they were then. That should be put into the conversation. Teams grow and get better throughout the year.

Tad believes there is a big bias with the East Coast. Mainly Virginia Tech who has only had one Quad win. The Buffaloes have three of them. Yet Virginia Tech is on the bubble. Meanwhile CU is not even in contention of being on the bubble right now. Though they have moved into the NET rankings 70th spot with their win against Oregon. He hopes the committee can be smarter but there isn’t a lot of faith.

Should Colorado go on and take down the still No. 2 team in the nation in the Arizona Wildcats they deserve to be in the conversation of the 68 teams selected. The New York Post submitted a headline claiming the Pac-12 to be one of the most loaded conferences in the NCAA. With that being the case the NCAA should be giving a power 5 conference more than three at-large bids.

The Buffs do have a substantially young team, but they do also have great leadership in talent in Evan Battey and Jabari Walker. The top duo proving day after day why Colorado should and could be in line for a ticket to the Big Dance.

Even when CU is missing shots and not having the best offensive performance which can happen with young teams, the defense always steps up and holds teams to give the offense a chance to come back to win the game. That is the mark of a great Cinderella type team who could go deep into March Madness.

Boyle went on to say that he is disappointed that with the 21 wins and even 10 losses in a power 5 school and they are still not being talked about. And if you don’t think Colorado is one of the best 68 teams in the country, you are sorely mistaken. Boyle knows all they can do is take matters into their own hands and keep winning. If they win out they can tell everyone where to stick their bias because they would punch their ticket anyway.

After a well earned win against the Oregon Ducks, CU moves on to cage the cats again this evening at 9:00 PM EST at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Let’s let the chips fall where they may.
