Colorado Buffaloes forward
will reportedly enter his name in the 2022 NBA Draft after another solid season with the team. Walker took to Instagram to make his announcement official Wednesday afternoon.
Like the Evan Battey news, this comes to us as no surprise considering how well Jabari played for the Buffs this past season. The good news is that even though Walker is entering his name in the draft, he is maintaining his college eligibility while doing so.
We’ve seen this story before with McKinley Wright IV following his junior season.
So there’s a very good chance Jabari could be back with the team for the 2022-23 season.
Walker was named to the All-Pac-12 First Team after leading Colorado in scoring averaging 14.6 points, 9.4 rebounds and 1.2 assists while shooting 46.1% from the field.
Walker was a double-double machine for the Buffs collecting 17 total on the season in 33 games played.
The standout sophomore was getting late-first round grades throughout the middle of the season then vanished off some of the big boards. Not exactly sure why that was but it was hard to find his name anywhere in the late-first or even in the second round mock drafts.
It’ll be hard to imagine this team without Walker’s rebounding and scoring ability but the Buffs will have reinforcements incase Walker does in fact stay in the draft.
Small forward Quincy Allen should be back from hip surgery and shooting guard Javon Ruffin should be a full-go after his knee injury.
Colorado also has 2022 recruitments such as power forward Joe Hurlburt and shooting guard RJ Smith who will be in the mix to be added to the rotation.
As for now, Jabari is doing his due diligence and seeing what the scouts and NBA teams are saying about him.
Hopefully he’s back for one more year in Boulder.
