Colorado Football: Ramon Jefferson decommits from Colorado
By Shay McBryde
Ramon Jefferson was expected to join the Buffs this June. A graduate student with one year left of eligibility. One of the best transfers for the Buffaloes out of Sam Houston State who rushed for 3,938 yards and 41 touchdowns in his career. After a lot of big losses for Colorado this season he was a much needed asset. An asset they will no longer have going into the season.
The former FCS All-American looks to be headed to an SEC school. It was a move that has many people puzzled. He would have had plenty of snaps and opportunities playing for Colorado this season. With this added loss it looks as if everything is on the shoulders of Alex Fontenot.
Though we never got to see him put on the black and gold we do wish him success in where he lands, and congratulate Ramon for graduating. We do hope your dreams are all you’ve been looking for.
In his recent 2021 season Jefferson was a second team AP All-American, AFCA second team all-american, HERO Sports second team all-american, Phil Steele all-american second team, all WAC first-team, and Stats Perform all-american second team. Ramon had 1,155 yards and 13 touchdowns in a remarkable ‘21 season. Wherever he winds up in the southeast they are getting a well established beast in the backfield.
