After five seasons at Yale Jalen Gabbidon has chosen to spend his final year with the Colorado Buffaloes. A recent graduate of Yale University. In 2020 he earned the Ivy League Defensive Player of the Year. Last season he finished second in scoring on the team averaging 11.3 points, 3.6 in assists, and shot 80 percent at the free throw line. He helped lead the Bulldogs to the NCAA Tournament in the East Region against Purdue where they lost 56-78.

Jalen was a team captain for two seasons straight. The first in the 2020 season. However that season was cancelled due to the pandemic. Then again in the 2021-2022 season where he had his best season yet.

It came at a time that was needed the most for the Buffs. Jabari Walker their brightest star is headed to the NBA Draft. If Tad Boyle’s team are going to look to be contenders this upcoming season in the Pac-12 they would need an add like this. Colorado is coming off another 20 plus win season, and with some key big losses this was the right move at the right time for both parties involved.

Gabbidon is a 6-foot-five senior from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. He achieved second-team All-Ivy-League honors last year. Tad Boyle is extremely excited to have him on the court with his leadership, experience, and versatility. He’s able to guard many opponents in many positions. We already know he has the intelligence from the Ivy League to make a great player and great asset for Colorado.

We all welcome Jalen with open arms to Boulder and wish him and all the newcomers this season the best of luck. Let’s get the Buffs back to the big dance and show the nation what Buff pride is all about.
