Forever Buff Derrick White has been having monster success in the NBA Playoffs so far. He comes into the Eastern Conference Finals averaging 13.2 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 4.9 assists with a 42 percent field goal percentage. Shooting just over 31 percent from the three-point line. On Wednesday he came off the bench for Boston scoring 14 points in 29 minutes of play. Adding 3 assists and 2 steals for the contest.

White’s streak did not end on Friday night. He finished the game coming off the bench again in a huge way with 22 points in 32 minutes of play. Tacking on 5 assists, 3 steals, and 3 rebounds. He scored the second highest in total points. Just behind starter Jayson Tatum. He shot 7-for-14 from the field. Sadly it wasn’t enough to get to the NBA Finals just yet. They fell to the Miami Heat in a tight game losing 111-103. Game 7 will take place on Sunday at 8:30 PM ET on ESPN at FTX Arena in Miami.

Now Derrick White and Boston are just one win away from meeting the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Finals. With another monster performance by White and Tatum it will be inevitable. Al Horford struggled from the field only scoring 3 points, but did have 9 rebounds in the matchup. However Horford had scored 16 points in the previous contest against the Heat. A more well-rounded game by the veteran could have kept the Celtics closer. Jaylen Brown had another good game himself with 20 points and 6 rebounds.

If Boston pulls this off on Sunday it will be the first time the Celtics reach the NBA Finals in over a decade. The Celtics acquired Derrick White back in February in a trade for Josh Richardson and Romeo Langford to the San Antonio Spurs. With a little luck on their side White and company will meet Curry and the gang for one of the best all time battles in NBA history. Tune in on Sunday evening and see which two teams will go head to head to see where the next ring will lye.
