It was all but do or die for the UCLA Bruins heading into Friday evening. Hopes loomed large for UCLA as the Pac-12’s best shot to bring home the championship to the west coast. The Bruins took on Northwestern in an elimination round. Thankfully for the Pac-12 and UCLA fans they controlled the game throughout and easily took a 6-1 victory in the contest.

Maya Brady was quiet in Game 1 but that was not the case with the Wildcats. Brady came alive with 1 run and 3 hits. Pitcher Megan Faraimo had the games lone home run for the Bruins. It was a whole team effort, one UCLA knew they needed.

The bats were just on fire on Friday night and now the Bruins will have some times to relax and rest before Sunday. They will take on the winner of Florida and Oklahoma State matchup at 3:00 p.m. ET on ABC.

There would still be one more Pac-12 team to push through on Friday. Arizona took on Oregon State in another elimination match up. First basemen Carlie Scupin was just too much for Oregon State to handle. Arizona took the game in a 3-1 victory. The Wildcats will face the winner of the Texas and Oklahoma game on ESPN at 7:00 p.m. ET.

If you really want to watch some top notch softball tune in today at 3:00 p.m ET/1:00 PM MT for two teams you know are going to battle until the last inning. Where powerhouse Oklahoma will take on the Texas Longhorns. The Sooners have severe home field advantage but Texas is a team that never dies. It should be one for the ages over on ABC, and a fun way to spend your Saturday with the whole family.

Another great one is set over on ESPN at 7:00 p.m. ET/5:00 PM MT. The tough Florida Gators will be taking on Oklahoma State. The Gators out of the SEC are coming in hot. Between their offensive firepower and defensive play they are going to be one hard test for the Cowgirls. Oklahoma State is ranked 7th but I expect the Gators at 14 to give them all they can handle. We will see who comes out on top. Pac-12 get’s a break today but come Sunday tune in and see where the best in the west land.
