Shedeur Sanders’ heartwarming message on Colorado teammates
Shedeur Sanders sent a heartwarming message on his Colorado football teammates to the masses — claiming the Buffaloes he plays with on the offensive side of the ball are just as much his family as his blood relatives.
“It’s real fun,” Shedeur said about being around his father, brothers, and other members of the Sanders family (h/t On3). “But each and every player, we’re family also, especially on the offensive side of the ball because we spend the most time with each other. So, those guys, we’re around each other more than I’m around my own siblings, honestly. So, those guys understand that we all have a connection in a way, so we’re all family.” Coach Prime added that he’d never had it any other way as a college coach other than being surrounded by other Sanders’.
“I don’t know no other way,” Sanders prefaced before saying, “This is the way it has always been. You guys are just getting an opportunity to see it. So I don’t know no other way. My family was in Jackson, [Mississippi] with me. My kids have always been with me.”
Colorado football QB Shedeur Sanders speaks on his father’s surgeries
One of the most notable developments of the Buffaloes’ offseason thus far has been the ailing health of Coach Prime, who has required several surgeries to address blood clots in his legs that led to the amputation of several toes in 2022. Shedeur relayed that his father downplayed his latest surgery in late July which caused him to miss Pac-12 Media Day.
“Because he’s had surgery before, he didn’t make it seem like a big deal to us,” Shedeur said. “He didn’t let us know [he was having surgery]. He didn’t really tell us until someone called me to tell me he was having surgery the next day. I really didn’t know until the next day.”
Despite all of the surgeries, Coach Prime promised a Ralphie-esque run ahead of his Buffaloes as CU takes the field against TCU on September 2 in Fort Worth.
