“Nobody will be doubting” Deion Sanders’ old school, Jackson State, moving forward after a thorough 37-7 Week 0 win over South Carolina State according to Colorado football analyst Brian Schaible of BuffsBeat.

“There’s no doubt Coach Prime has love for Jackson State and new Head Coach, T.C. Taylor. But, a mass exodus of talent was the inevitable outcome,” Schaible prefaced before saying, “Heading into the MEAC/SWAC challenge, expectations for Jackson State were mostly mixed. After last night’s 37-7 thrashing of South Carolina State, nobody will be doubting the Tigers moving forward.” Taylor acknowledged as much too following the victory.

“Right now, we’re not going to sneak up on anybody, I guarantee that,” Taylor said.

Deion Sanders’ Jackson State replacement ‘stepped out of shadow’ of Colorado football head coach

HBCU Legends’ Kyle Mosley believes that the Tigers’ win in Atlanta was Taylor’s official stepping out of Coach Prime’s shadow at Jackson State; acknowledging that Taylor just did something Sanders couldn’t during his JSU tenure.

“Although it may be considered an overreaction, Jackson State’s new head coach T.C. Taylor stepped out of Deion Sanders’ shadow with his team’s dominant 37-7 victory over South Carolina State at the 2023 Cricket MEAC/SWAC Challenge,” Mosley prefaced before saying, “Many with SWAC blood, like Taylor, knew the importance of gaining ground in the 11-5 MEAC-over-SWAC series deficit. On Saturday night, the Tigers’ leader had a signature win that Coach Prime could not nail for the SWAC — ‘Defeat The MEAC!'”

With Sanders having come through the doors at Jackson State and left with his offensive coordinator taking over and keeping the level of play just as high — with the potential to go even higher — it is clear that Coach Prime’s culture will live on in Mississippi’s capital.

Colorado football fans can only hope that the same will be true for CU once Sanders’ journey takes its next step, however far into the future it happens.
