Tom Brady had a message to Shedeur Sanders after leading Colorado football toone of Week 1’s biggest upsets with over 500 yards through the air and four touchdowns with his arm — and it was one all Buffs fans should be behind, even if some of the aforementioned fans may have been burned by the former New England Patriots great as Denver Broncos fans too. Sanders shared the message to the media he got as someone who works with TB12 with his apparel company, the Brady Brand.

“Working with Tom, it was just talking with him and understanding, OK, how to improve each week,” Sanders said (h/t Boston.com). “He texted me after the game, ‘don’t be satisfied.’ It was cool hearing from him knowing he’s still watching and stuff like that.” Brady had commented on the epic pregame speech that Shedeur’s father, Deion Sanders, gave his team before CU did the previously unthinkable.

“I saw his pregame speech,” Brady said of Sanders. “I was ready to run through my iPhone. He’s just doing great things. It just speaks to great parenting and really caring about your kids. We had great parents, and to keep seeing stuff like that is great to see.”

Colorado football QB Shedeur Sanders has just begun a potentially great Power Five career

The Buffs’ offensive line held up enough to inspire confidence in Shedeur being able to keep up his level of play for the rest of the season; perhaps enough to warrant Heisman Trophy hype come December. Certainly, the weapons out of the backfield and downfield did their part as well.

There’s no reason to believe that Sanders will regress considerably, even if he doesn’t go for more than half a thousand passing yards every game. The son of Coach Prime has just begun, as has CU’s potential march to the top of the Pac-12 totem pole.
