Ahead of marquee conference matchups with the likes of Oregon at Autzen and USC at Folsom Field, the talented crop of Colorado football newcomers Coach Prime brought with him, his “Louis Vuitton” if you will, is accustomed to the kind of spotlight those contests typically bring because they weren’t merely adopted by it; but born in it and molded by it. FOX Sports’ Martin Rogers believes that will be the Buffs’ advantage as Pac-12 play begins.

“Sanders’ troop of talented incomers is not just good, but they are primed – excuse the pun – for all the noise that accompanies every single one of their games,” Rogers wrote. “There is a constant party going on and it has become their new normal. They are the supporting characters in a show, one witnessed in person by celebs and on television by millions, and they’ve gone full method actor.”

With cameras in their faces the whole offseason, not to mention unrivaled social media attention and the accompanying NIL value the likes of Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter are experiencing, the Colorado football program has had an NFL-sized audience from the jump. Pressure has long been accepted by these Buffs now.

Deion Sanders’ sons setting the tone for Colorado football program

Coach Prime’s Buffs can handle the spotlight because two of the team’s leaders on both sides of the ball, his son and quarterback, Shedeur, and his other son, safety Shilo, are setting the tone as leaders for the Colorado football program.

Rogers believes Shedeur is a calming inspirational force for the offense.

“It takes a certain group to embrace something like this and be comfortable,” Rogers prefaced before saying, “Take a look at these guys. Do you see a sense of anything that doesn’t look comfortable?

“Perhaps they take their cue from the coach or perhaps they look first to his son, QB1 Shedeur Sanders, who has the rare combination of ice in his veins and fire in his heart. Sanders zips off clutch passes at will, unfazed by pressure, but also understands the optics and the power of motivation.”

Meanwhile, Shilo, the FOX Sports analyst believes, is a force.

“Defensively, the coach’s elder son Shilo Sanders has been an early force, teaming with Trevor Woods as a devastating safety duo, while Marvin Ham has led a muscular and unforgiving line,” Rogers wrote.

When the coach’s sons are some of the biggest producers, it’s hard not to buy into his message. Deion has all the Buffs buying in, with minimal drama and maximum success defining the 2023 season thus far in Boulder.
