Dwayne Johnson, formerly known as The Great One, the Brahma Bull, the Jabroni-beating, pie-eating, trail-blazin’, eyebrow-raisin’, all around, smack it down People’s Champ — and someone 9News’ Alexander Kirk referred to as “one of the most famous people in the world” –, (in wrestling terms) put Coach Prime and the Colorado football program over big-time in Boulder during an appearance on CU’s campus on September 15.

“You get lucky I think every once in a while if you’re part of something that is a game changer and changes the face of something. And in this case, Colorado, Coach Prime, changing the face of college football is incredible,” Johnson said on The Pat McAfee Show.

Ahead of the biggest weekend in Boulder’s history from a broadcast perspective with the presence of “College GameDay,” “Big Noon Kickoff,” “First Take,” and “SportsCenter” on campus, all the stops were put out by Coach Prime with the appearance of the XFL owner/10-time WWE Champion.

Jay Norvell playing the heel against Deion Sanders ahead of the Colorado State-Colorado football matchup

In pro wrestling, the heel is the bad guy. The cheapshot artist. The one who pisses off the crowd at the expense of the conquering hero.

On the opposite end of the spectrum from the heel role is the babyface. The Rock was the biggest babyface during pro wrestling’s late-1990s/early-2000s boom period, and to those who love a good underdog, Deion Sanders is the biggest babyface in college football.

Of course, the dynamic is reversed for many. “Prime Time” is not for everyone, and his list of doubters is long.

Regardless, Jay Norvell mocking the trademark Coach Prime brand, highlighted by a white cowboy hat and Heat Wave Visual Lazer Face Z87/Smith Wildcat sunglasses (h/t Sportskeeda) most certainly makes him the heel in this matchup.

To this writer, a babyface isn’t out here knocking a man’s choice of apparel ahead of a football game in which his team is tabbed to lose by three touchdowns.
