OutKick’s David Hookstead, like the rest of us, found Shilo Sanders’ viral pregame trash-talk video showing Coach Prime’s son threatening to beat up Oregon players and Ducks head coach Dan Lanning and calling them small to be “downright humiliating” given the eventual 42-6 blowout loss for Colorado.

“This is about as tough of a look as you can possibly imagine,” Hookstead wrote. “This isn’t simply embarrassing. It’s downright humiliating for Shilo Sanders. If you’re going to run up to an opposing team shouting about how tiny they are, how you’re going to run through their ‘a**’ and beat up their coach, you better win the game.”

The irony in Sanders’ claims is that it was Colorado that looked like an FCS team in the trenches going against an Oregon front on both sides of the ball that has been well-stocked dating back to the Mario Cristobal era in Eugene. It’s clear Oregon was not only ready for the “Prime Time” limelight but the smoke that the son of Prime brought as well.

Shilo Sanders was hospitalized after Colorado’s 42-6 loss to Oregon

Sanders was in poor health following Week 4’s one-sided rout, having needed to be checked into the hospital as the result of a hit in which he landed awkwardly.

“I can’t say I didn’t play hard, I’m peeing blood right now,” Sanders said via Well Off Media. “I made a tackle and I landed on my kidney or something. I got to go to the ER to get checked.”

Sanders’ issues, if they persist, add more bad injury news to a Buffs secondary that has already lost Travis Hunter from an on-field hit during Week 3’s Rocky Mountain Showdown win for CU over Colorado State as well. Hunter is expected to either return on October 13 against Stanford at Folsom Filed, or October 28 against UCLA in Pasadena, California.
