Twitter put potential Colorado football transfer portal loss Cormani McClain on blast in the wake of a public disagreement with Coach Prime — with some comparing him unfavorably to the Class of 2022’s No. 1 overall high school recruit and two-way star Travis Hunter.

“The disappointing thing about the Cormani Mcclain situation is you have Travis Hunter, with a lacerated kidney, who wants to put his health on the line for the team, Shilo Sanders, who is urinating blood (and) who wants to play against USC, and (then) you got a guy who won’t even be bothered to watch film,” one user wrote.

“Y’all notice how different the talk about Travis Hunter to Cormani McClain (is)? Both (are) 5-star No. 1 corners a year apart but one is willing to put the work in to be great, while the other thinks he deserves everything already,” another said.

Coach Prime not blamed for star Colorado football flip’s unhappiness

Several tweeters/X posters — on second thought, let’s stick with tweeters — blamed the situation between Coach Prime and McClain on the latter; with the primary complaint being that the star corner simply didn’t put in the necessary preparation to contribute for Colorado football in 2023.

“I find it hard to believe that Cormani McClain isn’t the reason he’s not getting playing time,” one user prefaced before saying, “Literally the best place you could be as a league-bound CB is under Prime and he talkin’ about film. Clearly, there’s something going on with Cormani.”

“The Deion Sanders and Cormani McClain discourse is hilarious because we talking about the same man who showed him kicking a player off the team in the JSU Amazon Prime documentary,” another user prefaced before saying, “Him talking publicly about a player’s shortcomings isn’t surprising.”

Unsurprisingly, a Florida State fan account was like a hyena on the prowl hoping the transfer portal would be the next move for the Sunshine State star in CU’s secondary; in the Buffs’ secondary for now, at least.

“CU Buff Freshman 5-star DB Cormani McClain will not stay much longer at Colorado,” the account prefaced before saying, “His relationship with Coach Prime and his position coach are at odds… extremely so! Make or break time! I expect (the) portal coming.”
