Colorado football career rushing leader No. 6: Charlie Davis 1971-1973

  • 2,958 rushing yards
  • 24 rushing touchdowns
  • 5.5 yards per rush

In 2022, Davis was inducted into the CU Athletic Hall of Fame. As a sophomore, he was an All-American honorable mention and was part of the 10-2 team under Eddie Crowder that finished No. 3 in the country.

That 1991 season was his best, rushing for 1,386 yards and 10 touchdowns on 219 carries. He averaged 6.3 yards per carry that year. Davis didn’t crack 1,000 yards in either of his next two seasons but was still good enough to be drafted in the second round of the 1974 NFL draft.
