Colorado football career rushing leader No. 2: Phillip Lindsay 2014-2017

  • 3,775 rushing yards
  • 4.9 rushing touchdowns
  • 4.9 yards per rush

Phillip Lindsay was around for a rather forgettable time in Colorado football history. In 2014 the Buffaloes went 2-10, but Lindsay was also a part of the turnaround.

Just two years later, CU jumped to 10-4 and finished 10th in the final CFP rankings. As a junior, Lindsay ran for 1,252 yards and 16 touchdowns while averaging 5.1 yards per carry. He also added 493 yards in the passing game.

In 2017, Lindsay became the entire offense for Colorado. He led the NCAA in rushing attempts with 301 and finished the season with 1,474 yards and 14 touchdowns on the ground.

Though he was undersized at 5-foot-8 190 pounds, Lindsay found some immediate success in the NFL as an undrafted free agent.
