Colorado football career passing leader No. 1: Sefo Liufau (2013-16)

  • 9,746 passing yards
  • 60 passing touchdowns
  • 62.8% completion
  • 6.9 yards per attempt

Before there was Montez, there was Liufau, who took over as a freshman in 2013, Mike MacIntyre’s first season in Boulder. That year he threw for 1,779 yards and followed it up with his biggest statistical season as a sophomore.

In 2014, Liufau threw for 3,200 yards, which was still only sixth in the Pac-12 that season. He also set a career-high with 28 touchdowns. Though not as statistically impressive, his final season in Colorado was the best for the program in over a decade.

The Buffs won 10 games and with a 10-4 record were 10th in the final College Football Playoff rankings. That is still the highest that Colorado has ever finished in the CFP rankings. As a senior, he was named Polynesian College Football Player of the Year.
