With the Colorado football program’s massive rise this year thanks to the hiring of Coach Prime, there has been a major shift across all major Buffs sports teams.

The football team that last year only won one game got to be as high as No. 18 in the nation. But even more interesting: there is a lot currently going on at the other programs for Colorado as well.

At the start of the College Football season, many people were wondering what kind of impact Coach Prime would have on the Buffs, but as we have seen halfway into the 2023 season, it’s been a highly positive one; even if during some games that doesn’t appear to be the case.

Colorado football is in the hunt for a bowl bid halfway into the season which is something that no one in the sports world saw coming. Deion Sanders has made Boulder the place to be with so many big names from all over the world coming to support the team at Folsom Field in person. And transfer portal/high school recruits have already proven/will prove that statement true.

Colorado football is not the only Buffs team thriving right now

While many people are talking about the rise of the football program at Colorado it is also worth mentioning the meteoric rise of the men’s and women’s basketball teams. Coming into this season, the women’s College Basketball program is ranked No. 20 in the nation.

It is also being represented by another part of the Sanders family. Coach Prime’s daughter, Shelomi Sanders, is part of the roster. The women’s program is not only coming in with a high ranking, but it’s plausible that they can go on a massive run which can see them becoming a serious contender for a national championship.

Lastly, we have the new Colorado men’s basketball program which is starting to shine and make some noise; being able to sign the No. 4 prospect in the nation, Cody Willams, a six-foot-eight guard who has all the potential in the world to be a superstar at the college level and the next. His impact on this team can make the same kind of impact Shedeur Sanders has had on the College football program.  The men’s basketball program can now compete with all of the big programs in the nation with Willams, who will likely begin a chain reaction of hoops blue-chippers coming to Colorado.

With all the media attention and interest that Colorado now has with Coach Prime, the women’s basketball program, and the men’s basketball program, CU is certainly becoming the top brand in college.

It may be more definitive once the “Prime Effect” has a year or two under its belt.
