Colorado football will be bringing back the main faces of the Buffs’ new brand in 2024, such as Coach Prime’s sons Shedeur and Shilo and the Class of 2022’s No. 1 overall recruit, Travis Hunter, but there isn’t strictly good news on the returning talent front.

Unfortunately, several Buffs who have been integral in victories CU has been able to amass in the first season of the Deion Sanders era will be one-and-done in Boulder.

And there will need to be big shoes filled in the Folsom Field home locker room as a result.

Shedeur Sanders’ No. 1 option in the Colorado football receiving corps is likely NFL-bound

Someone few pegged to be the No. 1 option for Shedeur Sanders in Colorado’s offense, Xavier Weaver, likely played his way into the 2024 NFL draft with three 100-plus-yard games in his first eight appearances for the Buffs.

One of the star transfers from USF alongside Jimmy Horn Jr., Weaver is the ex-Bull with limited time in Boulder compared to his teammate; who will be part of the University of Colorado’s jump to the Big 12 conference.

Weaver has big-play potential that will serve him well as a WR2 at the next level.

Wideout star of ASU win has just one season at the Power Five level

Javon Antonio, the top wideout for Colorado during a narrow 27-24 win over ASU on October 7, will only get one season at the Power Five level; having split his previous collegiate career at Hinds Community College and Northwestern State.

Antonio has the third-highest catch total for the 2023 season out of anyone in the Buffs’ wideout room.

Sack leader set to move on from Colorado after sixth year in college

Jordan Domineck, who leads the Buffs in sacks with a total (five) that’s double the total of second place, will be moving on from the program after a sixth season in the Power Five; having previously spent four seasons at Georgia Tech and one at Arkansas.

Domineck is No. 4 in tackles (36), sitting behind fellow linebacker LaVonta Bentley (39).
