After the hot start winning the first three games of the season, Colorado football has won one in their last five following a 28-16 loss to UCLA. Standing at 4-4 through Week 9, it is do or die for the Buffs; given their upcoming marquee Pac-12 matchups in the conference’s swan song season, needing to come away with two more wins to be bowl-eligible.

Colorado has an intense final four games against Oregon State, Arizona, Washington State, and Utah, and it’s very likely given CU’s recent stretch that they will go into those games as underdogs.

With that being said, the season is not over for the Buffs. They have had some hard losses recently but Coach Prime can inspire his players at Colorado to show and win some of these big games.

Colorado football can still win two of their final two games

While the next four games are going to be all-out battles, Colorado can win two of those, and if the offensive line can make any sort of tangible leap, CU may be able to run the table and finish the season with a very impressive 8-4 record in Year 1 of the Deion Sanders era.

While the recent stretch of the Buffs’ futility may have many concerned about whether or not they make a bowl bid, the competition isn’t fierce enough to fear the future. Remember, Shedeur Sanders isn’t afraid of names.

No matter what ends up happening over these last four games, the 2023 season has been an unmitigated success in Boulder based on all the team has accomplished after a historic overhaul and minimal expectations from sportsbooks and analysts heading into it.

It’s possible, if not probable, that the Buffs will rise to the occasion and save the 2023 season from being a failure of the early-season expectations Colorado’s success built.
