Pac-12 quarterback power rankings: Does Shedeur Sanders crack the top tier?
By Josh Yourish
Pac-12 QB rankings No. 9: Ashton Daniels
- Passing yards: 1,707
- TD: 9 INT: 4
- Comp: 59.4%
- YPA: 6.9
One of the most fun Pac-12 games of the season was when Stanford came back from a 29-0 halftime deficit against Colorado. Ashton Daniels was excellent in that game. He finished with 396 yards on 27 of 45 passing with four touchdowns and 39 yards on the ground, to lead the team.
The only other game he played to that level was against Washington in Week 9 when he threw for 367 yards and a touchdown. Daniels is a big upgrade from fellow sophomore Justin Lamson who started at the beginning of the year.
Lamson still leads the team in rushing, but that is because of all the negative yardage against Daniels from sacks. He has lost 107 yards on 19 sacks. He needs to cut down on the sacks which have resulted in a -10.8 expected points added (EPA). His total EPA is 20.3 and despite leading the conference in scrambles against pressure with 20, he has just a 3.2 rushing EPA.
