Shedeur Sanders has been one of the biggest surprises in college football this season. His arrival to the Colorado football program has changed its trajectory and he’s shown the world that he is a big-time quarterback. While his season has been amazing and has certainly caught the eye of NFL teams, his father, Deion, wants him to stay and continue to grow as a football player before hitting the NFL.
That does seem like the right call for Shedeur as he can get more experience and grow as a player. But some teams could certainly influence Shedeur’s decision given how much of an impact Shedeur has made for CU.
Shedeur has the talent and ability to win a Super Bowl — so you best believe teams at the pro level will try to get him so they can be the team that benefits from his great game.
Teams that can convince Shedeur Sanders to leave Colorado football
New York Jets
The New York Jets are a team that is always strong on the defensive end but usually lacks at the QB position. With the uncertainty of Aaron Rodgers, given his Achilles tear, the Jets may soon have a vacancy under center; assuming NY ultimately moves on from Zach Wilson.
A star who brought the spotlight to CU — okay, maybe his father did, but Shedeur has thrived under it –, No. 2 won’t have any issues adjusting to the media attention the Big Apple presents. Especially for Gang Green.
Cleveland Browns
Another team that would love Shedeur and have the talent to compete at the highest level is the Cleveland Browns. Like NY, Cleveland is also in a state of uncertainty with their QB Deshaun Watson. The Browns are loaded from top to bottom but just need a big-game QB to step in and drive the bus home.
If Sanders can come in and win the Browns their first Super Bowl, he will be a legend in the state of Ohio; loved and remembered forever as the man who changed the fortunes around for the Browns.
New York Giants
The New York Giants are recognized as a cornerstone franchise in the NFL who have a rich history and tradition — but in the last decade, they have been anything but that.
Since Eli Manning retired, and to be fair, long before that, Big Blue has been an irrelevant franchise. Sanders would have the highest ceiling of anyone who’s tried to replace Manning since, and like with the Jets, would seize the NY spotlight.
