Once-proud but now-fallen B1G team can steal Coach Prime from Colorado
At this point, Coach Prime said he has no intention of leaving Colorado football and he loves what he is currently doing with the program. Based on the impassioned pleas he’s made to the media aiming to prove that he wants to stay in Boulder, there’s no reason not to believe him.
Between having both of his sons on the football team and his daughter on the women’s basketball team, CU has become a home for the Sanders family in 2023, and according to them, 2024 as well.
All of that does not mean, however, that Deion Sanders won’t at least consider some of the options presented to him. Because we all know there will be a slew of coaching offers his way when the 2023 season concludes. Texas A&M has already entered its hat into the race it seems.
Wisconsin could look to steal Coach Prime from the Colorado football program
A surprise team that can come in and potentially steal Deion Sanders is Wisconsin. The Badgers have been a massive disappointment during the 2023 season, going 5-5 through their first 10 games under new head coach Luke Fickell; who did not bring the level of success he saw at Cincinnati with him in year one in Madison and may not get another chance.
With a successful lineage in the modern era of college football — with a dominant run through the Big Ten during the 2000s and 2010s — UW is one of the country’s most recognizable brands. Featuring no FBS counterparts in the state, the Badgers have a built-in pipeline in a state the size of Colorado, but all their own.
Realistically, everything Coach Prime could get with Colorado in the Big 12 is available at Wisconsin in the Big Ten.
Does that mean Sanders will go for it? Probably not, but don’t write off the Badgers as a potential threat to end the “Prime Time” era in Boulder before it ever got off the ground.
