X was in disbelief as Colorado flip flirting with transferring got ‘cooked’
The X platform lit up watching Colorado football cornerback Cormani McClain get lit up by Wazzu’s Cameron Ward and the Cougars receiving corps on November 17 during an eventual 56-14 win for Washington State; one that officially closed the door on the Buffs making a bowl game in 2023.
“Wazzu is flat out picking on Cormani McClain and they are gouging Colorado,” said 104.3 The Fan’s Mat Smith. “Hell of a throw from Cam Ward up the sideline.”
“Man we dodged a bullet when Cormani McClain flipped to Colorado,” said one Miami fan.
“Cormani McClain is out here getting bullied,” observed one poster.
“Wazzu (is) embarrassing Cormani McClain tonight,” prefaced another poster before saying, “Going at him every play.”
“No wonder Cormani McClain hasn’t been playing for Colorado,” remarked another. “Getting beat badly out here and he’s woofing at everyone still.”
“Cormani McClain should transfer to UCF and get back to Central Florida,” said one UCF Knights homer. “Tear it up for the Knights and get out of the freezing cold and that pooh cheese secondary. This secondary for the Buffs couldn’t catch a cold.”
“They were begging Deion to play Cormani McClain and he’s been getting cooked,” noted another.
“Cormani McClain gonna transfer to high school,” sniped another disrespectful poster.
Colorado football DB Cormani McClain looking elsewhere was on table before recent string of appearances
Right after McClain’s first collegiate appearance during a 42-6 blowout loss to Oregon on September 23, the former Miami commit and Coach Prime had a public spat; one so ugly, that it had BuffsBeat’s Josh Tolle believing that McClain’s comments signaled that he could look elsewhere in the transfer.
“Sanders got McClain as the highest-ranked player in CU’s 2023 recruiting class,” Tolle prefaced before saying, “He originally committed to Miami, but wanted to follow in Prime’s footsteps as a ‘generational talent.’ McClain is also listed a top ten all-time defensive back from Lakeland HS in Florida, but might be looking elsewhere by the tone of his comments.”
McClain has received more playing time, and plenty of praise, from Coach Prime as the season has progressed, but the Lakeland, Florida star and the rest of the Buffs’ defense have struggled mightily. With so much talent struggling to mesh on the field, one must think something isn’t right behind the scenes.
If that’s the case, McClain could be part of yet another roster exodus from Boulder overseen by Deion Sanders.
