Stephen A. Smith, aka one of the most recognizable faces for the ESPN brand, had some very interesting things to say about Colorado football head coach Deion Sanders and what he should do in the future.

Smith strongly believes that Coach Prime should take the job at Texas A&M. He also doesn’t believe CU could get the job done on the recruiting trail as he should.

“Deion Sanders in the SEC, with that vault that they have available to them…with the hogs that he can recruit,” Smith prefaced before saying, “Because he doesn’t have them at Colorado and he ain’t gonna get them.”

Coach Prime won’t be leaving Colorado football for Texas A&M

Texas A&M let go of Jimbo Fisher, and everyone believes they’d be interested in poaching Coach Prime, but Sanders is perfectly fine with where he is. And he’ll tell anyone who will listen that he doesn’t plan on leaving.

The SEC is not the only conference where top players go to play, and Coach Prime will prove that as he continues to build a legacy at Colorado. Stephen A. was wrong with this take, as he tends to be. CU is and will remain to be a place where kids will play with Sanders in tow.

Top-notch recruiting can be done outside of the southeast, and once the Buffs are in the Big 12, the state of Texas will likely become a more reliable pipeline to the University of Colorado’s football program.

Once that happens, as Coach Prime says, Colorado’s coming.
