Coach Prime’s oldest son, Deion Sanders Jr., got into it with Danny Kanell about the Colorado football program’s four-win season; one Kanell feels Deion’s oldest son needs to learn from and be humble about.

“You’re a pure h**,” Sanders Jr. told Kanell in response to a poll he posted about whether or not a team’s fanbase should storm the field after winning in overtime as a 24-point favorite — an obvious reference to CU’s 43-35 Rocky Mountain Showdown win over Colorado State in Week 3.

“Hey junior, congrats on 4 wins in year one,” Kanell prefaced in his response before saying, “Some advice for year 2: Stop writing checks your lil bros can’t cash. Cleanup your language — I’m sure your daddy doesn’t approve. When you lose say little. When you win say less.”

Danny Kanell furthers narrative that Coach Prime’s Colorado football cleanup job shouldn’t get attention over David Braun at Northwestern

Kanell started the war with Sanders Jr. when he swiped at Coach Prime in an effort to prop up David Braun.

“What a story,” Kanell prefaced before saying, “David Braun took over a disaster. Went to work. Built a great culture. Never complained. Never threw his players under the bus. No celebrities showed up. College Gameday nor Big Noon Fox. But he just won. What. A. Turnaround. From 1 win a year ago to 7!!! (Not 4)”

This furthered the narrative Mike Farrell of the Mike Farrell Sports brand started on November 26 when he echoed the same sentiment, with less personal attacks and specific references.

“Northwestern went from 1-11 to 7-5 with an in-season coaching change and some dude in Colorado is getting all the praise for going from 1-11 to 4-8?” Farrell asked.

In 2024, Braun’s second year is now one fans in Boulder are being forced to pay attention to since it will continue to be used to unfairly frame Coach Prime as a loser.
