Coach Prime would’ve had same results at FSU as he did with Colorado: Analyst

Mike Farrell of the Mike Farrell Sports brand believes FSU would’ve made the College Football Playoff — instead of going 13-0, winning the ACC Championship, and still being snubbed — had Deion Sanders been the head coach of the Seminoles, but he also believes that Coach Prime would’ve had the same results at Florida State that he had with Colorado football.

“If Deion was the head coach at #FSU the Noles would have gotten in,” Farrell prefaced before saying, “Also if Deion was the head coach at FSU the Noles would have gone 4-8.”

Though one fan pointed out that Coach Prime could’ve had Shedeur Sanders as his backup to Jordan Travis at FSU, and thus the Noles wouldn’t have run into the quarterback question that the CFP committee ultimately answered, Farrell claimed that there isn’t a QB in the country Shedeur wouldn’t have started over.

“Backup my a**, he’d start his kid over Caleb Williams,” Farrell said in response to the poster.

Deion Sanders will never leave Colorado football for FSU, or coach the Seminoles at any point in his career

Coach Prime may not be in Colorado forever, but he’ll always be employed by a university, for as long as he is coaching, that isn’t located in Tallahassee, Florida. As Footballscoop’s Zach Barnett pointed out, there is animosity between Sanders and FSU.

“Either way, Sanders clearly holds a level of animosity toward Florida State, and Florida State certainly holds a high level of animosity toward arguably the greatest player to ever wear the garnet and gold,” Barnett wrote.

Farrell was laying out a hypothetical, but Sanders coaching FSU is in the back of everyone’s mind not paying attention to how sour the relationship between Coach Prime and his alma mater — and remember that Sanders sees Talladega College as his true alma mater.

It’s not happening. But thinking about how Sanders could’ve given them a boost over what Mike Norvell did/didn’t give them is certainly a feather in Coach Prime’s cap.
