Public enemy of Coach Prime and the entire Sanders family, Danny Kanell, took a shot at the Colorado football coaching turnover this offseason, and BuffZone’s Brian Howell was simply having none of it.

First, Howell reported that Deion Sanders made a mistake when discussing the exit of EDGE coach Nick Williams; claiming he went to Louisville when he actually went to Syracuse.

“In an interview with 247Sports, Colorado head coach Deion Sanders said edge coach Nick Williams is leaving the CU Buffs for a job with Louisville,” Howell prefaced before saying, “It has been reported that Williams was going to Syracuse.”

This brought out a troll tweet from Kanell.

“How many are we up to?” the former FSU quarterback snarkily asked. Howell had a game, set, match-type reaction.

“Three coaches (probably 4 because I doubt the OL coach is coming back),” Howell prefaced before saying, “Look around college football and let me know if this is unusual for assistant coaches to move around. I’ll save you the time. It’s not.”

Coach Prime’s son jabbed with Danny Kanell over potshot at Colorado football fanbase

Deion Sanders Jr. feuded with Kanell over a shot at Buffs fans for storming Folsom Field after CU’s 2023 Rocky Mountain Showdown win over Colorado State.

“You’re a pure h**,” Sanders Jr. told Kanell in response to a poll he posted about whether or not a team’s fanbase should storm the field after an OT win as a 24-point favorite — this being an obvious reference to Colorado’s 43-35 triumph over CSU on September 16.

“Hey junior, congrats on 4 wins in year one,” Kanell prefaced in his response before saying, “Some advice for year 2: Stop writing checks your lil bros can’t cash. Clean up your language — I’m sure your daddy doesn’t approve. When you lose say little. When you win say less.”

When Coach Prime says “It’s personal,” he’s referring to detractors like Kanell. Sanders’ less-than-warm feelings toward FSU, and vice versa, likely have something to do with the feud these two have been waging. Not to mention Sanders picking off Kanell on September 17, 1998, in the latter’s last appearance as an NFL starter (h/t RedditCFB).
