Deion Sanders’ ex, Tracey Edmonds, sent a strong message on December 3 regarding her split from the Colorado football head coach — noting that the two will remain friends and sharing nothing but love for Coach Prime.

“To EVERYONE who has been there for us, supported us, and shown us love… We have mutually decided that it is best for us to move forward in life AS FRIENDS and have made this decision with love in our hearts, respect for each other, and appreciation for the time we’ve shared together,” Edmonds wrote on Instagram (h/t Sports Illustrated). “Please keep us in your prayers as we go through this transition. Thank you for being there for us ALL THESE YEARS! We love you and appreciate you SO MUCH! 🙏🏽❤️Tracey and Deion.”

Edmonds and Sanders started dating in 2012, so she is not the mother of any of Sanders’ five kids. Shedeur, Shilo, and Shelomi’s mother is Pilar Sanders, while Deion Jr. and Deiondra’s mother is Carolyn Chambers. Edmonds has two children of her own she lives with in Los Angeles.

Deion Sanders will receive no mercy from Colorado football critics

Deion detractors couldn’t keep themselves from going after Coach Prime as he was undergoing surgeries for blood clots in his leg. They used the amputation of the man’s toes to take shots at Sanders.

Don’t expect an ounce of mercy from those unimpressed with Coach Prime’s Colorado coaching job to allow Sanders any peace as he endures a difficult period of loss and adjustment in his personal life.

At the end of the day, what Sanders does away from the job technically should have no impact on what he does at his day job in Boulder, but we all know that’s not how things work. Whether this split means Coach Prime will be more or less locked in on the recruiting trail is a total question mark right now, but knowing how he views the game of football, it doesn’t seem likely that Sanders is going to let the loss keep him from continuing to build what he’s begun with the Buffs.
