2027 offensive tackle Dewey Young is set to make his upcoming visit to Colorado on April 1st. Young, a 6-5, 285-pound prospect out of Kalamazoo Central in Michigan, is no stranger to big-time programs. After visiting Indiana this weekend, he'll head to Boulder next week to check out what the Buffaloes have to offer.

What makes this visit particularly intriguing? Well, it’s not just about his on-field talent—though at 6-5 and 285 pounds, Young already has the size to compete at the next level. It’s also about family ties. Colorado’s offensive coordinator, Pat Shurmur, coached Dewey’s father, Duane Young, at Michigan State in the early '90s.

That connection could give Colorado a leg up in this recruitment, as Young's family is already familiar with Shurmur’s coaching style and expertise.

While Young is still early in his recruitment, with offers from Miami (OH) and Toledo, Colorado’s presence in the Big 12 this year could be a huge factor. The Buffs are looking to build a solid offensive line and Young could be a key piece in that effort.
