Colorado recovered nicely following a slow start and came out on top over the UTSA Roadrunners by the final score of 88-64.
3 Takeaways from Colorado's win over UTSA
Turnovers were a common theme early on
It was a pretty tough game to watch early on regardless of the team. Colorado was out of sync and couldn't get anything going. During the first half, the Buffs turned it over on three consecutive possessions, two of which were by Sebastian Rancik.
The high number of turnovers in the first half was due to their overaggressive behavior, Colorado point guard Barrington Hargress mentioned postgame.
As a result, Colorado finished with 13 turnovers compared to an average of nine per contest.

Barrington scored a game-high 23 points on 9-of-12 shooting, including 5-of-7 from deep. He seemed to be the catalyst that kept Colorado afloat until the team took complete control in the second half.
After a slow start, Rancik turned it on as well for the Buffs. He managed to score 15 points on 6-of-12 shooting, including 2-of-4 from downtown. Colorado's big managed to pull down seven rebounds and added two assists to his credit.
Colorado did a good job reading the scouting report
The voice of Colorado Buffaloes radio, Mark Johnson, mentioned pregame that this UTSA basketball likes to shoot a lot of threes. The Roadrunners were coming off a game on the road against #12 Alabama where they attempted 33 three-pointers.
In today's game, Colorado held them to just 18 three-point attempts. That's something head coach Tad Boyle has been harping on all season.
Colorado managed to outscore UTSA in the paint 42-28 with 23 of those being fastbreak points. The team was also +16 on the rebounding end, but they will need to be better about giving up offensive rebounds. UTSA as a team finished with 12 offensive rebounds thanks to their aggressive nature on the glass.
