A second half surge helped Colorado defeat UC Davis at home Friday night to improve to 5-0 on the season. In the second half, the Aggies took their first lead of the game at 11:53 mark, and Colorado took over from there with five players scoring in double figures.

Here are three takeaways from the game.

3 Takeaways from Colorado's win to start 5-0

Bangot Dak is electric

It's no secret that Colorado's junior forward has improved this season, and his stats are reflecting that. Dak finished the game with a team-high 18 points on 8-of-10 shooting, pulling down five rebounds to go with three assists. He also recorded a block and a steal.

During an early sequence in the game, Barrington Hargress threw an alley-oop so high that it might have touched the roof of the CU Events Center. That play propelled a 10-0 run to start the game.

The depth has been showing out

With a bench that consists primarily of freshmen, they have continued to be the reason for this team's early success.

With Alon Michaeli leading the way with ten points, Colorado's bench combined for 29 points, making 3-of-4 from downtown. Isaiah Johnson chipped in eight points while Josiah Sanders added six of his own.

As for the starting lineup, Sebastian Rancik and Hargress have been solid. Rancik scored 15 points on 5-of-9 shooting, recording seven rebounds, five assists, and two blocks. Hargress, on the other hand, continues to play point at a high level, as he added 13 points and nine assists in the winning effort.

Career night from Felix Kossaras

While Kossaras struggled to make a significant impact for the Buffs as a freshman, he is now a starter in his sophomore campaign - and he's making the most of it.

Kossaras played a team-high 32 minutes Friday night, scoring 17 points on 5-of-7 shooting, including 3-of-5 from three.

Kossaras scored in double figures for the first time in his Buffs career.
