Colorado fans can finally take a deep breath with regard to one of their top commitments.

4-star TE Gavin Mueller committed to Colorado back in May and hasn't wavered. At least until recently, it seemed.

The Wheaton, Illinois product received a recent offer from Alabama, and that made Colorado fans nervous. Particularly when he announced the offer on social media. Some Colorado fans took that as a sign that Mueller would be on flip watch from there, assuming that if the Crimson Tide pushed for him, he was likely to flip.

That appears to have been foolish thinking.

Mueller remains locked in with Colorado despite the interest from Alabama and other programs. He delivered a money quote this week about his commitment that should calm the Boulder faithful.

"All these schools are seeing in me what Colorado already saw in me from the start," Mueller told Rivals.

This is tremendous news for Colorado as Deion Sanders could ill-afford any prospects to flip away from the Buffaloes right now. Coach Prime still has a lot of work to do - and little time to work with - to make a push in the 2026 class. The early signing period is starting to creep up.

Colorado currently holds only 13 total commitments in a class that ranks 69th in the composite. Mueller is one of four committed 4-stars, joining DL Emanuel Ruffin, S Preston Ashley, and LB Rodney Colton Jr.

Ruffin is another who has recently been on flip watch. He visited Missouri last weekend for their game against his home-state Alabama Crimson Tide. Kalen DeBoer may have done Coach Prime a favor by leading Alabama to a win over Missouri over the weekend.

Ashley made an announcement over the weekend that his recruitment was completely shut down.

Mueller was Colorado's second commitment in this class, behind only Domata Peko Jr. He's stuck with the Buffaloes through all the rumors over the summer about Sanders' future, and after a rocky start to this season that saw the sharks circling with the Buffs sitting at just 2-4 overall.

But Colorado has built some momentum following an upset win over No. 22 Iowa State, and going into the bye week, the vibes in Boulder are a lot higher than they were the week before.
