We all love Shedeur Sanders. No doubt. But this might be taking it just a bit too far.
A Colorado football fan has officially filed a lawsuit against the NFL—yes, the entire National Football League—claiming intentional emotional distress because Shedeur Sanders dropped to the fifth round in the 2025 NFL Draft.
And not only that, they’re seeking $100 million in damages. Yep, you read that right.
An anonymous Colorado fan wants the NFL to pay for the "intentional emotional distress and trauma" caused by Shedeur falling to the fifth round

Apparently, the trauma of watching QB1 slide past round after round was just too much to bear.
This alleged fan is demanding a full-on apology from the league, a retraction of "slanderous statements" made about Shedeur, and even a change in how the NFL handles its draft process.
There’s also a request for the league to start giving players "opportunities based on merit."
But here's the kicker: they also want punitive damages for the impact on their emotional well-being. I mean, I get it, we were all bummed out for sure. We all wanted to see Shedeur go higher. But dragging Roger Goodell into court because your feelings got hurt on draft night? That’s wild.
Look, we're all invested. We ride or die with this team. But if we're going to start suing over every draft pick that doesn’t go our way, the legal system might need a dedicated “College Football Mental Health” division.
Shedeur’s gonna be just fine. He's already a fan favorite in Cleveland, rocking that No. 12 jersey (what are all those record-breaking #2 Sanders jerseys going to do now?).
But if anything, falling to Day 3 might just fuel the fire that makes him even more dangerous in the pros.
So to the mystery plaintiff out there: thanks for the laugh, but maybe you need more help that $100 million might not fix.
