Another NFL analyst predicts Shedeur Sanders will be the Cleveland Browns Week 1 starter

Domonique Foxworth is the latest NFL voice saying Shedeur Sanders will be the Browns’ starter Week 1. From Kurt Warner to Scot McCloughan, belief in Sanders keeps growing.

At this point, it’s not even a hot take anymore, it’s becoming a pattern.

Domonique Foxworth, ESPN analyst and former NFL cornerback, didn’t mince his words this week on Get Up:

"Shedeur Sanders will be the starting quarterback for the Browns entering the season."

And just like that, another name joins the growing list of NFL minds who believe in the former Colorado Buff.

First, it was former Super Bowl MVP Kurt Warner, who told Jim Rome:

“I really like Shedeur… he wasn’t a fifth-round prospect, in my opinion.”

Then, former NFL GM Scot McCloughan dropped this gem:

“He’ll be the best quarterback in this draft. When it’s all said and done, he’ll be the best QB out of this draft.”

Now it’s Foxworth’s turn. The man played in the league, helped lead the NFLPA, and breaks down tape for a living. He’s not just throwingaround words. He’s seeing what we’ve seen: Shedeur Sanders has starter potential in the NFL.

These aren’t any analysts—These are football guys

There’s a lot of noise in the sports media world—hot takes, TikTok clips, dudes with microphones who’ve never taken a snap in their life.

This ain’t that.

When Kurt Warner speaks on quarterbacks, you listen. He went undrafted, bagged groceries, and turned that into a Hall of Fame career and a Super Bowl ring. He knows what it’s like to be overlooked.

So when he says Shedeur wasn’t a fifth-round guy? Sounds legit.

Same with Scot McCloughan. He’s scouted and drafted Pro Bowl quarterbacks. And he’s flat-out saying Shedeur will be the best of the class—over Cam Ward, over Jaxson Dart, over Dillon Gabriel.

This isn’t just Colorado fans hyping up one of our own anymore. This is real NFL belief.

Why this matters for Buffs Nation

We watched Shedeur last season. Behind a better-but hard to watch O-line, with the spotlight of college football beaming down, and still threw for over 4,100 yards and 32 touchdowns. He didn’t flinch.

Now he’s in Cleveland, and nothing’s guaranteed.

The Browns’ QB room is full of question marks. Flacco is aging. Pickett has baggage. Watson’s hurt. Gabriel’s unproven and smaller than reporters. And all Shedeur has done since landing in Berea is show up early, get to work, be a part of the community, and soak up everything like a sponge.

Coach Kevin Stefanski has already said don’t read too much into OTA reps. That sounds like this is a real competition. And these analysts aren’t just throwing praise out for no reason.

This fires me up

What gets me the most? This ain’t fluff. This isn’t a headline grab. These are real football guys with opinions that hold weight for me.

Foxworth, Warner, McCloughan—they’re not CU fans. They’re not homers. They just see it.

He’s got the arm.

He’s got the poise.

He’s got the tape.

He’s got the bloodline.

He’s got the it factor.

And if he gets the reps? He might just take this thing and never look back.

I’m not saying it’s guaranteed. But when this many football people keep saying the same thing… maybe it’s time the rest of the league wakes up too.
