Justin Mayers, Shane Cokes, Michael Harrison (remember him?!), and Blake Stenstrom have all been invited to the Denver Broncos rookie mini-camp.
Let’s start with Mayers. The former UTEP standout spent just one year in Boulder, but he had grit in the trenches. He protected Shedeur Sanders during some of the most chaotic moments of the season and played really well down the stretch. His emotional words after the Pro Day showed what CU meant to him: “Every week, Folsom was rocking and sold out.”
Cokes might be the most NFL-ready of the group. A leader up front and vocal presence in the locker room, the Dartmouth transfer brought brains and strength to CU’s defense. While the Broncos are taking a look, so are the Seahawks—he’s one to root for.
Then there's Michael Harrison, the former walk-on tight end who earned everything he got at CU before heading to San Diego State. He's one of my favorite players of recent. And Valor Christian grad Blake Stenstrom—yes, that Blake Stenstrom—makes a surprise appearance. After transferring to Princeton years ago, he’s now circling back for one last shot.
This is what makes being a Buff so special. It’s not just about first-round picks, I love following the guys who keep grinding and still chasing a dream. Whether these four make the roster or not, we are all excited to see where they end up professionally.
