Colorado's bottom-ranked Big 12 position appears dubious given their last decade's performance.
Interestingly enough, this seems to have nothing to do with basketball at all—it's actually about what's transpiring with the football program.
"There’s no recruiting base, they have bottom-tier resources, now you have Prime soaking up all the money and I’m not sure they really care. Tad [Boyle] is a really good coach to do what he’s done there."Jeff Goodman (The Field of 68)
Since 2010, Coach Boyle has achieved ten 20+ win seasons, including four consecutive, and six NCAA Tournament berths.
It’s hard to claim that no recruiting base exists when Tad has developed players such as Spencer Dinwiddie, Derrick White, and Tristian da Silva to name a few, producing ten NBA draft picks during his tenure in Boulder.
After all, Boyle stands alone atop the mountain of Colorado coaching legends, holding the all-time record for wins as the University of Colorado men's basketball coach.
Time will reveal whether Tad's impressive recruiting class this past year can develop into a solid team after the disappointing 2024-25 campaign.
If everyone stays that is.
Isaiah Johnson spearheads a top-25 scoring bench unit alongsidefellow freshmen Alon Michaeli, Jalin Holland, and Josiah Sanders.
It is surprising to see Colorado ranked this low given their recent success and home court advantage.
